Azienda Agricola Aru Mario

The farm Aru arises from an ancient tradition of Iglesias winemakers. From the end of '800 to the present day there is a continuous evolution in the commitments and the techniques for growing grapevine to get grapes of great value and transform those in the wines of ancient memory. The territory of Sigerro gets close of Iglesias, the ancient Argentaria, in which the vineyards lay down on the age -old  strip .The geologists have explained it: the land on which rises  Iglesias is the most  ancient land emerged in all the Mediterranean about 600 million years ago. A region consummated by the time, where the clay  sandy ground serves as support to sediments of ancient floods,  makes  the shapes and the landscape soften. The vines  grown there inspired by the antiquity of these ground, from Carignano to Merlot, from Cannonau to Vermentino until Sangiovese, and enriched by aromas and flavors of the land where they grow vivaciosly.The uniqueness of the wines produced on the farmstead is  also in the working processes in the field and in the wine cellar: the choice of the grapes, the vineyards surrounding the winery itself, the temperatures of the grape harvest, the soft pressing and  the control of  fermentation temperatures, exalt the gift that the grape offers us ...

Argentaria

The name of the ancient city of Iglesias, silver city, as the historian Tangheroni defined it.
The large metal mines have hidden for millennia this precious metal.
Argentaria as when the mines of Villa Church unleashed the mad rush to easy wealth, in the middle 'of the thirteenth century.
