It is the second youngest DOC wine in the Province of La Spezia.
The growing area goes from the borders of Tuscany, where many historical artifacts from Roman times can be found (Luni) with a beautiful amphitheatre, to the hills behind the city of La Spezia.
This wine is obtained by choosing the best grapes of the year, and the first soft-pressing must is left to ferment at a controlled temperature.
After ageing in glass it is placed on the market.

Wine production has characterized the Arrigoni family for four generations. Thanks to the well – established experience in this field, the company, with its strong expertise, high quality and reliability in production practices, has entered the international market which has now been globalized. In the early years of the 90s the founder Gervasio moved away from Tuscany, he decided to settle in La Spezia and started up a small farm which has gradually developed. After World War II he was succeeded by his son Bruno, who gave the company a boost. In recent years, after the creation of the estate of Pietraserena in 1966 in the area of San Gimignano, Riccardo Arrigoni opened a small business for the production of Vermentino DOC Colli di Luni wine in Masignano in the municipality of Arcola, that has grown into about 17 hectares of land between The Cinque Terre and the Colli di Luni.

Cascina dei Peri
The vineyard of the Cascina dei Peri Farm of Marcoli and Peri is situated on the green hills surrounding the area of Castelnuovo Magra, in a magnificent geographical position. The wonderful Vermentino wine is produced from these rows. The wine is grown with care and passion in the moder equipped cellars of Riccardo Arrigoni by Riccardo himself, following authenitc tradition.
Vigna del Prefetto
It is a Vine made with monovarietal Vermentino grapes grown in Masignano ( Arcola), one of the most suitable vine areas of the Province of La Spezia.
The golden grapes are perfectly healthy, 70% is processed in steel at a controlled temperature, and the remaining 30% in new barriques where the fermentation takes place slowly and lies on the fine lees for about 6 months. Afterwards the cuvée takes places, and the wine is bottled and put on the market in late summer.
