La Pietra del Focolare di Laura Angelini

La Pietra del Focolare is a small winery in the Luni area, in the municipality of Ortonovo. It produces the wines obtained only from the company’s own grapes: four Vermentinos and one Red Doc dei Colli di Luni wine. The production of the four Vermentinos is divided in micro areas and they are spread over the three municipalities of Sarzana, Ortonovo and Castelnuovo Magra due to the geographic position of the vineyards. The different locations and soil conditions means the wines are different in colour, flavour and aroma. In 1997 the owners, Stefano Salvetti and Laura Angelini decided to change their proffesion and start a vine producing. Nowadays there are 7 hectares of cultivated land, 5 of which are intended for Vermentino grapes. Amongst the main characteristics of the company: the Guyot training system, the pruning, the post – veraison berry thinning and especially the fermentation without the skins with classical wine pressing and ageing in steel, without any further clarifying or filtering processes.

Solarancio

Colli di Luni Vermentino Solarancio 2010, extracted exclusively from the grapes of the Sarticola vineyard, situated at 220 metres above seal level in the locality of  La Pietra del Focolare Bacchiano of Castelnuovo Magra, 8000 plants per hectare guyot trained, with a yield of 30 quintals/ hectare. 
In its entirety it reminds us slightly of the elegance of an old champagne.

Villa Linda

The Colli di Luni Vermentino Villa Linda wine is made on the land situated in the estate of the same name in Becco di Ortonovo. It has  a fifty years old, dense plant systems with a productivness of about 40 quintals per hectares. A part of the wine undergoes a slight wood ageing while the other part rests 5 months on fine lees, with many pumpovers  in the tank.
