Anglo-Irish oenologist, Richard Spurr, born in Manchester, worked for several wineries in the south of France in the 90s. In Corsica Richard established ties of friendship with producers and professionals of Balagne that guided him, with his wife Marjorie, to create in 2007 the site of Enclos des Anges. The vineyard covers 20 hectares whose 15 are in production. The vines planted on the slopes of granite sand are aged between 3 and 40 years. One man in the vineyard and the winery. To adapt to the climatic conditions of semi-arid land, Richard Spurr cultivates his vineyard working at night, in order to conserve soil moisture. Even the treatments based on sulfur take place in the night hours. The harvest, exclusively handmade, takes place in the morning. The wine is made without addition of chemicals products. Richard prefers the maturation of fine sediments for its 3 cuvée, with a small addition of sulfites while bottling. At all, around 27,000 bottles are produced, respectively 12000 white, rosé 3000 and 12000 red. Richard and Marjorie are directly involved in the sale at the farm and in France, as well as in the export to the United States, England and Quebec.
