Acquacalda di Vreeling Femmie

The Acquacalda company was founded in 1979 on lands that have been cultivated since ancient times and have a total area of 14 hectares. All the plots of land are sloping. The vineyards located to the east of the winery are placed on terraces, while the vineyards to the west and to the north-west are placed on a slight decline towards the sea.The aim of the company is to contribute to the re-birth of the thousand-year-old wine making tradition, which has always been the primary source of livelihood for the local population and which represents the territory and the environment of the Island of Elba. The wine tradition dates back thousands of years on Elba, and there is ancient historical evidence to verify this fact (Plinio described Elba as"....insula vini ferax.... ") and by archaeological finds of amphora  containing wine from Roman times discovered amongst the many wrecks lying on sea beds around Elba.
