Colour: straw yellow with green highlights, typical of the young Vermentino.
Aroma: delicate with notes of spring flowers, citus fruits and peach.
Flavour: round and fresh – particularly balanced. The ending is full of flavour and lingering.

Clos Fornelli has a single plot of land of 18 hectares. The heart of the family property is 45 hectares. It is situated in the eastern Piemonte, in the mountains of Castagniaccia, in the valley of Bravone. The first vintage dates back to 2005, as previously the grapes belonged to a cooperative. The soil of Clos Fornelli consists exclusively of alluvial soils from the Quaterniary fluvial erosion, from the slate mountains of Castagniccia: a soil is also made of clay mixed with the falling bodies of the Bravone mountain. Infertile but deep, it gives an excellent water supply to the vineyards. The mediterranean climate is characterized with warm, dry summers and mild winters. However the influences of the sea and the nearby mountains create an ideal microclimate for the maturation of grapes. The blend of grapes is made of 3 different native varieties: Vermentinu (Blc),Niellucciu (Rge & Rs), Sciaccarellu (Rge & Rs)., Biancu Gentile (Blc) et Minustellu (Rge). Currently, the averge age of the vineyards is about 20 years old: the oldest plots of land are 30 years old. The winery is equipped with a concrete tank with compartments for the red wines, a refrigerated inox tank for the white and rosè wines, a pneumatic press and a controlled temperature. The vineyards are not irrigated. In the Clos Fornelli company, the water supply for the soils is not modified!
