Fattoria Poggio Gagliardo
The vineyards are situated in the heart of the production area of Montescudaio. Once Valter Surbone became owner of the Poggio Gagliardo Farm in 1969, he started planting in the early years of the 1970s. The Poggio Gagliardo Farm is situated between the land of the Province of Pisa and the province of Livorno, in a hilly strip of land ideal for the production of wine. The farm stretches over an area of about 450 hectares of land, 65 of which are vineyards. The aim is to enhance the qualitative characteristics of the grapes through a rigorously controlled vinification process, with temperature management and macerations conducted with a well dosed extraction effeciency. Particular care is taken during the ageing process in oak barrels, barriques, tanks and bottles.
